Chapi investment expands copperA sizable investment raised copper exposure and added growth potential while consuming part of the cash cushion.

On July 15, Elemental agreed a $25 million package with Quilla Resources, owner of Peru’s producing Chapi copper mine. It acquired equity plus an additional perpetual 1% royalty on two expansion concessions, lifting its interest there to 3%. The structure can add copper-linked receipts without Elemental operating the mine, but it places more capital behind Quilla’s expansion execution. Nasdaq shares fell about 10% across July 15–16; other market forces may have contributed, so attribution is uncertain.
