ABB introduces direct-current power portfolio for AI data centers
ABB ($ABBNY) introduced Infinitus, a source-to-rack direct-current power portfolio designed for the growing electrical demands of AI data centers. The offering combines solid-state transformers with DC distribution and protection technology, allowing customers to tailor systems to their power requirements, facility layouts and energy sources.
The launch extends ABB’s existing work on 800-volt DC architectures, rather than announcing a new partnership with Nvidia. Several main components are expected to enter production over the next 12 months, with the first facilities using the complete portfolio expected to operate within two to three years. Those are deployment expectations, not evidence that a full installation is already running. ABB did not disclose a new customer contract value or revenue forecast.
