AmpliTech receives a $21.7 million follow-on order for 5G equipment
AmpliTech ($AMPG) received a firm purchase order worth $21.7 million from an unnamed Asian mobile-network operator for 5G Open RAN equipment. The follow-on award takes total orders associated with an earlier $78 million letter of intent to approximately $34 million, or about 44% of that indicated opportunity. The company said its overall backlog now exceeds $51 million.
The conversion of part of the earlier expression of interest into firm orders provides stronger commercial evidence than the original letter alone. However, the remaining portion of the $78 million indication is not a binding order and must not be added to guaranteed revenue. Even the newly ordered equipment requires delivery before its full financial contribution is realized. The announcement therefore materially expands committed business while leaving execution, timing and further conversion of the broader opportunity as separate questions.
