Aemetis receives $22.4 million from clean-fuel tax-credit sale

Aemetis ($AMTX) has received $22.4 million from selling Section 45Z clean-fuel production tax credits generated by its ethanol and renewable natural gas operations during 2026. The company cited credit values, before transaction discounts and costs, of approximately $0.33 per gallon of ethanol and $62 per million British thermal units of renewable natural gas under the applicable production model.

The transaction converts earned tax incentives into cash that can support the company’s operations and financing needs. The quoted per-unit credit values should not be confused with realized fuel selling prices or net proceeds after costs. Aemetis also expects opportunities to increase credit value through documentation of lower-carbon corn supplies, but those potential additions are not included as cash already received and depend on qualifying production and supporting evidence.
