Arecor conditionally raises £5 million to extend insulin-development funding
Arecor Therapeutics ($AREC-LSE) has conditionally placed approximately 7.35 million new shares at 68 pence each, raising about £5 million before expenses. The financing follows an accelerated bookbuild and is separate from a planned retail offer. Management expects the additional capital to extend the company’s cash runway to December 2027 and support critical insulin-development activities.
The funding strengthens Arecor’s position while it negotiates with insulin-pump companies over technologies intended for smaller, longer-wear automated delivery systems. Those discussions are not completed commercial agreements, and the forecast cash runway depends on spending and other assumptions. The placing remains conditional, with admission to AIM expected on October 6. Existing shareholders face dilution from the new issuance. Completion of the placing does not depend on the separate retail offering.
