American Vanguard agrees to add four US crop-protection brands
American Vanguard ($AVD)’s AMVAC subsidiary signed agreements to acquire US rights to four Syngenta crop-protection brands: Caparol, Evik, Prime+ and Agri-Flex. The package includes applicable US end-use product registrations and trademarks, covering herbicides, an insecticide and a plant-growth regulator used across several crop markets. The purchase price and other financial consideration were not disclosed.
Management projects more than $7 million in annual net sales and expects the additions to contribute to earnings over the next year. The products broaden AMVAC’s offerings in established agricultural channels rather than introducing unproven new active ingredients. Registration transfers are still being completed, making continuity of supply an immediate execution priority. Forecast sales and a claimed positive leverage effect are company expectations, not guaranteed outcomes, and the release does not quantify acquisition costs or the resulting return on investment.
