Supplier dispute reportedly prolongs Boeing freighter production halt
Reuters reported that Boeing ($BA)’s dispute with supplier Vaero has halted 777 freighter production for nearly two months and disrupted 767 output, including KC-46 tankers. Workers said 777 assembly remained stopped despite a September settlement. Boeing’s earlier court complaint put disruption costs at up to $6.5 million daily.
Boeing is reportedly seeking to make the affected wing components internally. The 777X is unaffected. Boeing declined comment, and Vaero did not respond to Reuters. The reported continuing interruption remains unconfirmed by the company.
