Hugo Boss chairman to step down as Frasers seeks more board influence

Frasers ($FRAS) Group reached an agreement for Hugo Boss ($BOSS) supervisory-board chairman Stephan Sturm to step down once the necessary board arrangements permit. Frasers also intends to seek the appointment of Robert Palmer as a second representative alongside Michael Murray. The changes follow Frasers’ recently completed voluntary tender offer and its increased influence over the fashion group.

Reuters reported that Frasers holds around 48% and aims to move above 50%. The newly announced development concerns board representation and leadership transition, rather than another completed acquisition of the whole company. Sturm is expected to remain during the transition. For shareholders, the update clarifies how Frasers intends to translate its enlarged investment into governance influence while the implementation steps are still being arranged.
