Box brings governed enterprise files directly into ChatGPT workflows

Box ($BOX) announced an expanded integration with OpenAI that lets users browse, search and work with Box content directly in ChatGPT. The experience connects enterprise documents to chats and projects while retaining Box’s existing access permissions and governance controls. Users can select files as context, preview source material and work with supported content tools without manually moving files between applications.

The integration also uses Box’s MCP server to support actions such as extracting, updating and creating content. Box highlighted research, legal and other document-heavy workflows as potential applications. This is a product and distribution development rather than a disclosed investment or acquisition. The release does not quantify revenue, paid-user adoption or the commercial terms of the partnership, so those financial effects should not be inferred from the launch itself.
