Butler National lifts quarterly revenue 53% with record aerospace backlog
Butler National’s ($BUKS) first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue increased 53% to $30.8 million. Operating income rose 59% to $7.4 million, and net income increased 43% to $5.3 million, or $0.08 per share. The operating margin improved to approximately 24% from 23%.
Aircraft modifications and specialized electronics supported the aerospace business, whose backlog reached a record $51.1 million. The company’s services operations also contributed to the overall results, although aerospace generated the stronger growth. Backlog indicates contracted work, not sales already recognized, and its conversion depends on aircraft availability, engineering requirements, materials and customer schedules. The update combines a substantially stronger reported quarter with a larger future workload, without guaranteeing that every backlog order will be completed in the next financial year.
