Central Asia Metals flags delay to Cygnus acquisition hearing

Central Asia Metals ($CAML) expects a required Kazakhstan approval to arrive too late for the scheduled court hearing on its proposed combination with Cygnus. Cygnus will therefore seek a postponement. It said the relevant ministry had not raised objections to the transaction’s merits but required a new submission following administrative changes.

The application has been resubmitted, and management expects approval on or before October 12. That timing is the company’s expectation, not a confirmed regulatory decision. A revised transaction schedule will follow once the position is clearer. The announcement adds a potential closing delay after the previously covered shareholder approval; the all-share acquisition has not completed and still depends on satisfying the remaining requirements.
