Carrier plans more than $600 million for Texas cooling capacity

Carrier ($CARR) plans to invest more than $600 million over three years to expand manufacturing and engineering capacity in Fort Worth, Texas. The project includes a facility exceeding one million square feet for commercial chillers and thermal-management equipment, serving demand from data centers and other large users such as hospitals, schools and industrial customers.

The company expects the facility to begin operating in 2027 and create approximately 1,500 jobs. The investment responds to a record backlog and demand for efficient cooling, and would strengthen domestic production capacity for large commercial systems. These are planned capital expenditures and employment targets rather than completed capacity additions. Carrier did not provide a separate forecast for incremental sales or earnings generated by the new site.
