Caterpillar agrees acquisition of 37-location Fabick dealership
Caterpillar ($CAT) has agreed to acquire John Fabick Tractor Company, an established dealer operating 37 locations across Wisconsin, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and parts of Missouri and Illinois. The parties did not disclose a purchase price. Fabick sells and supports Cat equipment, including machinery used in construction, agriculture and infrastructure, alongside power-generation and related products.
The acquisition would place the dealership under Caterpillar ownership while aiming to preserve local service and customer relationships during the transition. That makes continuity of distribution and aftermarket support the immediate operational issue, rather than a disclosed earnings or revenue target. Caterpillar expects completion within 30 days, but regulatory approval and other customary conditions remain outstanding. No financial contribution, synergy estimate or company-wide change to the independent dealer model was announced.
