Cadence introduces specialist AI models for chip and system design

Cadence ($CDNS) introduced Maestro, a portfolio of AI models designed for semiconductor and system engineering. The models work with its design software and AI agents, using feedback from engineering tools to improve design decisions. Customers can deploy the environment in Cadence’s cloud, a public cloud or their own facilities, and adapt models using proprietary designs and workflows.

The portfolio includes technology developed with Nvidia ($NVDA), including Nemotron models and security work involving OpenShell. Cadence reported initial results of up to 30% better design quality and up to five times greater token efficiency than a general-purpose model; these are company-reported benchmarks. Initial models are available to selected early-access customers in the fourth quarter of 2026. The launch could deepen adoption of Cadence’s engineering software, but broad availability and incremental revenue were not quantified.
