Costco grows quarterly sales 11% as earnings reach $6.75 per share

Costco ($COST) reported net sales of $93.9 billion for its 16-week fourth quarter, up 11.2% from a year earlier. Net income increased to $3.00 billion, or $6.75 per diluted share, from $2.61 billion, or $5.87. The latest earnings included a nonrecurring benefit of 15 cents per share from tariff refunds, after associated reinvestment in the business.

Comparable sales rose 9.4%, or 6.7% after excluding gasoline-price and currency movements. Digitally enabled comparable sales increased 19.8% on the adjusted measure. Full-year net sales reached $297.2 billion, up 10.1%. The results show broad sales growth, while the tariff-related benefit means the headline earnings increase is not entirely a measure of recurring operating improvement.
