Infleqtion and Cisco team up on networking quantum computers and sensors
Infleqtion ($INFQ) and Cisco ($CSCO) announced a collaboration to investigate how quantum computers and sensors could operate as connected systems. The work brings together Infleqtion’s neutral-atom technology with Cisco’s quantum-networking research. Areas of focus include connecting distributed sensors with computing nodes, transferring quantum information through optical channels and coordinating workloads across multiple systems.
The companies will also explore quantum memory and the conversion of information between atom-based devices and network links. These are research and engineering objectives, not a claim that a commercially deployed quantum network has already been completed. The announcement does not disclose a contract value, committed purchase volume or near-term revenue forecast. Its significance is the attempt to connect complementary technologies that have to work together for more distributed quantum applications to become practical.
