Dolby expands its technology partnership across Meta’s devices and apps

Dolby ($DLB) and Meta ($META) expanded their partnership to bring Dolby Atmos capture to Meta AI glasses and enable users to share the resulting immersive audio experiences through Instagram. The agreement also extends Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support to Meta’s newly announced VR Glasses. Those integrations broaden where Dolby technology can be used across content creation, sharing and playback.

The eyewear capture capability is planned for later in the year, while the VR features are tied to the device’s expected 2027 launch. The announcement did not disclose licensing fees, minimum revenue commitments or anticipated adoption. It represents an expansion of an existing relationship, not a new acquisition. Future commercial benefits will depend on product availability, user uptake and the partners’ implementation of the announced features.
