Dow returns to stronger earnings as prices and cost measures offset pressure

Dow ($DOW) reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $11.27 billion, up 13%, as a 14% improvement in local prices offset a 1% volume decline. GAAP net income was $525 million, or $0.62 per share. Operating earnings, which exclude specified items, reached $0.71 per share compared with a $0.19 loss a year earlier.

Operating EBIT increased to $887 million from $180 million, while operating cash flow rose to $1.84 billion and free cash flow reached $1.1 billion. Higher polyethylene prices and cost reductions helped absorb elevated fuel and logistics expenses. Dow expects its transformation program to contribute $700 million of benefits in 2026 and reach a $2 billion uplift by the end of 2027. Those benefits are targets rather than savings already fully realized.
