EchoStar’s Hughes wins gateway role in Nigeria’s satellite program
Hughes, an EchoStar ($ECHO) subsidiary, was selected to provide its JUPITER scalable gateway system for Nigeria’s next-generation NIGCOMSAT-2A and NIGCOMSAT-2B satellites. The contract covers ground infrastructure supporting broadband, enterprise and government services across multiple frequency bands. Preparation begins ahead of satellite launches planned for 2028 and 2029. Hughes also expects to provide engineering and technical support for local assembly of satellite terminals in Nigeria. The
