Man Group expands Meiji Yasuda partnership around a ¥200 billion investment plan

Man Group ($EMG) expanded its relationship with Meiji Yasuda, which intends to increase capital committed to the manager’s investment strategies to ¥200 billion, approximately $1.25 billion, over three years. Private credit is the main focus. The companies will also develop products for Japan, and Man will provide access to research and advisory expertise through the Oxford-Man Institute.

Meiji Yasuda is separately considering an equity holding of about 5% in Man Group through market purchases. This is a proposed investment, not an announced completed acquisition, and Man would issue no new shares. Any shares acquired would be subject to a three-year lock-up and other restrictions. The expanded relationship could support Man’s private-credit growth, but the investment allocation is not immediate fee revenue, and detailed financial terms were not disclosed.
