Europa’s EG-08 farm-out deadline extended while Chinese approval remains pending

Europa Oil & Gas ($EOG-LSE) reported that the completion deadline for Antler Global’s farm-out of a 40% interest in Equatorial Guinea’s EG-08 license to Fuhai has been extended to the end of October. Chinese overseas-investment approval remains outstanding, although the host government’s consent was obtained earlier. Europa owns 42.9% of Antler, rather than holding that percentage directly in the license.

On completion, Antler and Fuhai would each hold 40% of EG-08, with GEPetrol retaining 20%. The companies continue to target the first half of 2027 for the Barracuda-1 well. The extension keeps the conditional transaction alive but does not secure the remaining approval or guarantee drilling on schedule. Funding participation and project execution therefore remain dependent on completing the farm-out, making the revised deadline relevant to Europa’s exploration timetable.
