FICO Score 10T gains timetable for FHA mortgage underwriting

FICO ($FICO) said its Score 10T model will become available to Federal Housing Administration-approved mortgage lenders from the start of 2027. The announcement provides a concrete implementation timetable for use of the newer scoring system in FHA mortgage underwriting.

The model incorporates trended credit information and rental-payment data to assess borrower behavior over time. FICO argues that these features improve risk prediction and can support broader lending access, although the release’s performance claims are the company’s assessment. Availability does not mean every lender will switch immediately or that borrowers are guaranteed better mortgage terms. No incremental revenue forecast was provided, leaving the commercial impact dependent on implementation and lender adoption.
