Hasbro raises profit targets as Magic and digital gaming lift quarterly sales
Hasbro ($HAS) reported quarterly revenue of approximately $1.595 billion, up 15%. Wizards of the Coast and digital gaming revenue grew 31%, while Magic: The Gathering sales increased 34% and exceeded $600 million. Operating profit reached $517 million, or $541 million on an adjusted basis, and earnings were $2.77 per share, or $2.90 adjusted. A $55 million tariff refund contributed to the quarter’s performance.
Management raised its full-year constant-currency revenue-growth range to 7–9% from 5–7%. It also increased the adjusted operating-margin target to 27–28% from 25–26% and adjusted EBITDA guidance to $1.575–1.625 billion from $1.45–1.50 billion. The revisions reflect stronger expectations for the business, particularly its gaming operations. However, the tariff refund is a material benefit that should be separated from recurring demand when assessing the sustainability of quarterly profit growth.
