hGears' Schramberg subsidiary files for insolvency under self-administration

hGears announced on 7 September 2026 that hGears Schramberg GmbH applied for insolvency proceedings under self-administration at the Rottweil court.

Cause and scope

The subsidiary cannot meet its payment obligations, following insufficient production volumes and a cost base that remains too high despite restructuring measures. Weak e-bike demand has left the site underutilised.

Schramberg represented approximately 26% of group H1 revenue.

The application concerns this subsidiary. The parent and production subsidiaries in Padova and Suzhou are not currently subject to the proceedings and continue operating.

Parent exposure remains relevant

A domination agreement exists between the parent and Schramberg. The company says the proceedings may therefore have financial consequences for hGears AG, with the extent dependent on how the process develops.

What follows

Management expects operations to continue and to remain in place during self-administration. These are expectations, rather than confirmation of a completed restructuring.

The next material updates are the court's decisions, operational continuity, restructuring terms and any quantified effect on group liquidity and financial statements.
