Hochschild builds cash as Mara Rosa’s operational turnaround advances

Hochschild Mining ($HOC) reported attributable quarterly production of 74,004 gold-equivalent ounces, bringing nine-month output to 225,835 ounces. It reaffirmed full-year guidance of 300,000–328,000 gold-equivalent ounces and its previously updated all-in sustaining-cost range of $2,380–2,500 per gold-equivalent ounce. Mara Rosa produced more than 8,000 ounces in September as the turnaround under a new contractor approached completion.

Cash and short-term investments increased to $349 million from $309 million at the half-year, while net cash rose to $91 million from $51 million. The improvement provides additional financial capacity, but operational conditions remain uneven: winter weather affected San Jose, and Argentine inflation continues to matter for costs. The latest statement confirms the existing production and cost outlook rather than introducing a fresh cut or upgrade. Mara Rosa’s recent improvement is encouraging but does not guarantee sustained performance.
