IBM acquires Logiq to expand UK cybersecurity and sovereign technology services
IBM ($IBM) acquired Logiq Consulting, a UK cybersecurity specialist serving defense, critical infrastructure and other regulated customers. Financial terms were not disclosed. Logiq adds cybersecurity assurance, secure systems engineering and managed services to IBM Consulting, complementing the defense and public-sector expertise of IBM’s existing SiXworks business.
The acquired company also developed DISX, a sovereign collaboration platform used to exchange sensitive information between government suppliers and UK government and defense organizations. IBM intends to connect these capabilities with its hybrid-cloud and AI services, helping clients retain control over data and secure complex technology environments. The announcement confirms the acquisition, but provides no purchase-price multiple, revenue contribution or quantified cost-synergy target. Its strategic rationale should therefore be separated from financial benefits not yet disclosed.
