IQM wins quantum-computer deployment in Brazil

IQM ($IQMX) agreed to deliver a Spark quantum computer to Brazil’s Eldorado Research Institute in Campinas, with installation planned for the first quarter of 2027. The company describes the deployment as its first quantum-computer installation in South America. It is intended to support research, skills development and industry access to local quantum-computing infrastructure.

The agreement also includes cloud access to a separate 54-qubit IQM system in Europe, expanding the computing resources available to participating researchers. That remote machine should not be confused with the Spark hardware being installed in Brazil. The announcement does not disclose the contract’s financial value or a specific revenue contribution. It establishes a customer deployment and access arrangement, not evidence that quantum systems have achieved a new commercial performance advantage over conventional computers.
