Jubilee expands copper processing, but saleable output rises only modestly
Jubilee ($JLP) Metals reported 3,739 tonnes of copper output before refining from Roan and Molefe, up 225%. That figure includes material in stockpiles and is not equivalent to copper produced for sale. Combined saleable cathode and sulphide output increased much more modestly, by 1.3% to 2,120 tonnes; cathode production alone rose 17.5% to 1,207 tonnes.
The distinction highlights the importance of converting greater upstream throughput into finished or saleable products. Jubilee expects Roan to produce 2,850–3,150 tonnes in the next financial year. Operations at Sable faced substantial input-cost pressure, including increases of more than 200% for acid and around 90% for diesel. The production expansion is therefore not evidence of a comparable increase in revenue, cash generation or profitability.
