Carvykti follow-up finds half of a small cohort progression-free at five years
Johnson & Johnson ($JNJ) and Legend Biotech ($LEGN) reported five-year follow-up from 20 patients in the Phase 2 CARTITUDE-2 Cohort A study of Carvykti. Ten remained alive without disease progression or further anti-myeloma treatment after a single infusion. The cohort included patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma after one to three previous treatment lines; estimated five-year overall survival was 69.2%.
Median progression-free survival reached 60.5 months. Since the earlier analysis, one patient developed acute myeloid leukemia and two deaths occurred, from progressive disease and a new cancer. No new CAR-T-related neurotoxicity was reported during longer follow-up. These results support durability in a small cohort but do not establish a cure or a new randomized comparison with another treatment.
