Joby begins Texas flight demonstrations and establishes a regional operating base

Joby Aviation ($JOBY) began a North Texas flight campaign under the federal electric-air-taxi integration pilot program, working with the Texas Department of Transportation’s Project Nexus. Planned routes connect Fort Worth Alliance Airport with urban locations and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The campaign is intended to test operations in real airspace rather than only at a dedicated development site.

Joby also leased a 45,000-square-foot facility at Alliance Airport to support the flights and provide a longer-term operating presence in the region. The company expects the demonstrations to generate information that can support FAA rules for commercial operations at scale. These flights are a step toward that objective, not the launch of unrestricted scheduled passenger service. The announcement does not replace the remaining certification and operating requirements for broader commercialization.
