Kodiak selects Dallas–Houston for long-haul driverless launch
Kodiak AI ($KDK) selected the Dallas–Houston corridor as the launch route for its long-haul driverless trucking service, targeting operations without a driver by the end of 2026. The approximately 219-mile lane is a new deployment milestone for its highway program, separate from the company’s existing driverless operations in the Permian Basin.
Kodiak reported end-to-end runs without interventions, but those preparatory trips still included an observer in the cab. The company must complete its safety case before beginning the planned driver-out service. The announcement therefore specifies a route and timetable rather than confirming that fully driverless commercial highway operations have already started. Customer uptake and operational performance will determine the program’s eventual commercial scale.
