Kaltura outlines new AI media products for IBC, spanning discovery, support and monetisation
Kaltura announced new media and telecom capabilities on 7 September 2026, ahead of IBC on 11–14 September in Amsterdam.
Product direction
The demonstrations cover AI-assisted Cloud TV operations, a redesigned front-end experience and personalised discovery and monetisation.
Other features include customer-care avatars, sports discovery, accessibility, vertical video and AI-generated short-form dramas. Together they extend the platform across viewing, engagement and subscriber support.
Why it matters commercially
The product direction addresses how media companies attract viewers, retain subscribers and operate streaming services. It could broaden the functions customers buy from Kaltura.
However, a product demonstration does not establish that every capability is generally available or already contracted by customers. The release does not disclose new contract values, incremental annual recurring revenue or a financial-guidance change.
What to follow
The useful next evidence is availability, paying deployments, customer retention and monetisation of the new features. Any productivity or engagement benefit needs to be demonstrated in actual customer use, rather than inferred from the presence of AI in the product description.
