Kroger sets new three-year growth targets while retaining its current-year outlook
Kroger ($KR) outlined targets for fiscal 2027–2029 that include compound annual growth of 3–6% in adjusted EBITDA and 7–11% in adjusted earnings per share. It is aiming for approximately 3% comparable-sales growth by 2029, excluding fuel and pharmacy. The company reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 guidance, separating its existing annual outlook from the newly quantified medium-term ambitions.
The plan combines cost efficiencies and customer-price investment with opportunities in digital operations and retail media. Its targets exclude the pending Giant Eagle transaction, so that acquisition should not be assumed within the stated growth ranges. These are management objectives, not guaranteed results or a completed improvement in performance. Delivery will depend on translating operating efficiencies and commercial initiatives into durable improvements rather than simply achieving one unusually strong quarter.
