Litigation Capital Management enters run-off after A$166 million annual loss
Litigation Capital Management ($LIT) will stop making new investments and manage its existing portfolio to conclusion after a strategic review produced no transaction. The litigation funder reported an annual loss of A$165.7 million and net liabilities of A$53.6 million, compared with net assets of A$114.4 million a year earlier. Seven of eight investments concluded during the year produced losses.
The company also entered a long-term amendment to its Northleaf debt facility, increasing its maximum size from US$100 million to US$125 million and extending maturity to the end of 2030. Cash realized during the orderly run-off will first repay that debt. The arrangement provides additional financing capacity and time, not an immediate US$25 million cash receipt. Shareholder recoveries will depend on litigation outcomes and remaining obligations; the accounts do not establish a realizable equity value.
