Lockheed outlines ten-year F-35 framework subject to funding and authority

Lockheed Martin ($LMT) and the U.S. Department of War announced a framework for multiyear F-35 production and support. The contemplated arrangement covers 850 aircraft for the United States over ten years, initial spares, and a decade of modifications and sustainment. It also includes international production across Lots 21 through 30.

The framework aims to improve supplier planning, readiness and purchasing efficiency while supporting continued annual production of approximately 156 aircraft. It is conditional on multiyear contracting authority and appropriations, with pricing, schedules and final terms still to be established through formal awards. Consequently, the announcement is not an unconditional order for 850 jets or a guaranteed revenue figure. Its significance lies in the potential scale and stability of future procurement if the required approvals and funding follow.
