Meta launches enterprise-AI business and recruits MongoDB’s chief executive
Meta ($META) is establishing an Enterprise Platform business to turn its AI models, agents and infrastructure into tools for corporate customers. The initial portfolio includes Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code. Chirantan “CJ” Desai is joining as chief enterprise platform officer, reporting directly to Mark Zuckerberg. The launch expands Meta’s enterprise ambitions, although no revenue target or pricing schedule was disclosed.
Desai’s immediate departure from MongoDB ($MDB) brings former chief executive Dev Ittycheria back as interim president and CEO while an external search proceeds. MongoDB reaffirmed its existing third-quarter and full-year fiscal 2027 guidance; it did not announce an upgrade or downgrade. The two announcements represent linked strategic and management changes, with Meta gaining an enterprise-software leader and MongoDB facing a temporary leadership transition rather than a settled permanent succession.
