Maisons du Monde sales fall sharply as delayed deliveries restrict availability

Maisons du Monde ($MDM) reported third-quarter 2026 net sales of €176.3 million, down 21.5% as reported and 21.0% like for like. Store sales fell 18.3%, while online sales dropped 30.3%. Management attributed the deterioration to temporary delivery delays that constrained product availability, weaker retail conditions and a deliberate reduction in promotions to protect gross margins.

Nine-month revenue declined 12.0% to €589.1 million, with a 10.9% like-for-like reduction. The furniture and homewares retailer is working with suppliers to restore normal deliveries progressively during the final quarter and expects product availability to normalise by year-end. It maintained its target of €30 million in gross annual cost savings and is increasing selected marketing activity to rebuild traffic. Those measures are intended to lower the break-even point and conserve cash; the release did not demonstrate that sales recovery or improved profitability has already occurred.
