McGraw Hill acquires TeachFX to expand AI-assisted teacher coaching
McGraw Hill ($MH) acquired TeachFX, a classroom-audio platform that uses AI to provide teachers with feedback on instructional practices and student participation. The platform is intended to help educators review patterns in classroom conversations and identify opportunities to improve teaching. District-level tools provide aggregated information while the individual coaching experience is designed around private teacher feedback.
The acquisition expands McGraw Hill’s education-technology portfolio beyond curriculum materials into ongoing professional support. The announcement also discusses connecting teaching workflows with AI tools through integrations, including Model Context Protocol. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the company did not provide an acquisition-related revenue or earnings forecast. Claimed improvements in teaching remain the intended benefits of the product, rather than independently proven outcomes arising from the newly completed transaction.
