Moving iMage narrows annual loss despite weaker cinema-project sales
Moving iMage Technologies ($MITQ) reduced its fiscal 2026 net loss to $297,000 from $948,000, even as sales declined 4.6% to $17.32 million. A greater emphasis on higher-margin products and projects lifted gross margin to 29.1% from 25.2%. The acquired DCS loudspeaker business contributed $882,000 in revenue, partly offsetting reduced project activity elsewhere.
The annual improvement contrasts with a weaker fourth quarter: revenue fell to $4.55 million from $5.88 million, and the quarterly loss widened to $296,000 as customers deferred projects. Year-end cash was $3.19 million, down from $5.72 million, with no debt. Management expects approximately $4.5 million of first-quarter fiscal 2027 sales and sees potential for full-year profitability, but that expectation is not an achieved turnaround.
