Nanobiotix reports final melanoma cohort results for radioenhancer combination
Nanobiotix ($NANO) reported updated Phase 1 results in 24 heavily pretreated patients with advanced cutaneous melanoma resistant to anti-PD-1 therapy. Its JNJ-1900, also called NBTXR3, was injected into a tumor before radiotherapy and subsequent checkpoint-inhibitor treatment. Ten patients responded, giving a 41.7% response rate, including four complete responses; disease control was reported in 75%.
Median overall survival reached 17.8 months and median progression-free survival was 6.9 months. The company said the larger dataset and longer follow-up extended its earlier findings, with responses also seen in lesions that were not injected. Investigators reported no new safety signals. These results support further development of the treatment combination, but the small study lacked a control arm, so it cannot establish comparative benefit or support claims of regulatory approval.
