Olin–Huntsman merger clears US antitrust waiting-period milestone
Olin ($OLN) and Huntsman ($HUN) said the waiting period under the US Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust law has expired for their proposed merger of equals. The milestone satisfies one of the transaction’s key regulatory closing conditions. Shareholders of both companies had already approved the combination.
The companies have not yet completed the merger. Additional regulatory approvals and other customary conditions remain outstanding, and the announcement says work to obtain those approvals is continuing. Huntsman brings a diversified chemicals business that reported about $6 billion in continuing-operations revenue in 2025. The latest release is a meaningful step in the existing transaction process, but it does not establish that every authority has cleared the deal or that integration has begun.
