Old Mutual changes comparative segment reporting ahead of tomorrow's interim results

Old Mutual published restated comparative information on 7 September 2026, ahead of its half-year results scheduled for 8 September.

What was restated

The changes concern allocation between reportable segments under IFRS 8, covering the six months and full year ended in 2025. They provide a comparable basis for analysing the business in the forthcoming results.

The company says the changes do not alter consolidated earnings per share, headline earnings per share, or the group's consolidated financial statements, including cash flow and equity.

How to read the announcement

This is a change in the presentation of segment performance. It should not be interpreted as newly reported 2026 earnings or a revision to previously reported group profit.

When the interim results arrive, segment growth rates should be calculated against these restated comparatives. Mixing the new segment structure with old allocations could create misleading growth or margin comparisons.

The next substantive event is the actual half-year release, where operating performance, cash generation and guidance can be assessed using a consistent reporting basis.
