Oracle reportedly invokes force majeure for Project Jupiter
Oracle ($ORCL) reportedly notified a Blue Owl ($OWL)-linked developer that it was invoking force majeure in connection with its Project Jupiter data-center project in New Mexico. MT Newswires, citing Bloomberg, said the notice relates to infrastructure delays and could affect Oracle’s payment obligations if the planned opening is missed. The report concerns a development risk, not a disclosed cancellation of Oracle’s tenancy.
Oracle maintained that its planned schedule remained intact, while Blue Owl said financial commitments were unchanged. The notice therefore should not be read as confirmation that the project has been abandoned or that expected payments have already stopped. The parties’ public positions remain important qualifications to the reported contractual dispute.
