Precision Optics warns of satellite pause after record annual revenue
Precision Optics ($POCI) increased annual revenue by approximately 65% to $31.5 million and reduced its net loss to $3.6 million from $5.8 million. Fourth-quarter sales reached $8.8 million, up roughly 42%, while gross margin improved to 25.3% from 13%. Quarterly adjusted EBITDA was positive $0.4 million, although the company still reported a small GAAP net loss.
The outlook is more restrained than the historical growth rate. Management expects next-year revenue of $30 million–$33 million and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $1.2 million–$1.7 million, reflecting a pause in demand from an existing satellite customer. Growth in medical-device and defense programs is expected to offset part of that reduction. A stronger second half depends partly on satellite orders resuming; neither that recovery nor continued record quarterly sales should be treated as secured revenue.
