Pearson agrees to acquire Workera to expand workforce skills assessment
Pearson ($PSON) agreed to acquire Workera, a workforce skills-assessment company that uses adaptive testing and role-specific simulations to evaluate demonstrated proficiency, including AI skills. Workera has approximately 60 employees and serves enterprise and government customers. Financial consideration, revenue and profitability were not disclosed, preventing a reliable estimate of the acquisition’s immediate earnings contribution.
The technology would extend Pearson’s enterprise offering from learning content toward identifying skills gaps, directing training and measuring whether employees improve. On completion, Workera would join the Enterprise Learning & Skills unit, with co-founder and chief executive Kian Katanforoosh joining its leadership team. Closing is expected in the second half of 2026, subject to customary conditions and any required regulatory filings or approvals. The proposed addition strengthens Pearson’s assessment capabilities, but integration and customer adoption will determine its financial contribution.
