Arcus reports additional kidney-cancer data supporting casdatifan development

Arcus Biosciences ($RCUS) released additional results from the ARC-20 program evaluating casdatifan in kidney cancer. Across pooled monotherapy cohorts involving 121 heavily pretreated patients, median overall survival was 35 months, median progression-free survival was 13 months and the confirmed response rate was 36%. A separate first-line cohort testing casdatifan with zimberelimab enrolled 30 patients and showed estimated progression-free survival of 86% at six months and 69% at twelve months.

Follow-up in the combination cohort was a median 11.5 months, limiting the maturity of longer-term conclusions. These are early, non-randomized cohorts, so comparisons against results from other studies cannot establish head-to-head superiority. Arcus plans to initiate the Phase 3 PEAK-20 study by year-end while PEAK-1 continues. The data support further testing but do not constitute regulatory approval or definitive evidence of benefit in a randomized population.
