SCOR reports lower quarterly profit but a stronger solvency position

SCOR ($SCR) reported third-quarter 2026 net income of €206 million, down 4.8% from a year earlier, while insurance revenue increased 1.2% to €3.757 billion. Its property-and-casualty combined ratio rose to 84.1% from 80.9%, reflecting a more active natural-catastrophe quarter and additional reserve buffers. Catastrophes contributed 9.1 percentage points to the ratio, including losses associated with the Colombia earthquake.

Life-and-health insurance service earnings improved to €119 million from €98 million, and the regular investment-income yield reached 4.1%. Nine-month net income totaled €603 million. SCOR estimated its solvency ratio at 221%, six percentage points above the previous year-end, as operating capital generation outweighed business growth, deleveraging and dividend accruals. The stronger capital position therefore accompanies weaker quarterly reported profit, rather than an across-the-board earnings increase.
