SolarEdge advances an AI data-center power system, but commercialization remains ahead
SolarEdge ($SEDG) said the medium-voltage-to-800-volt DC conversion stage of its AI data-center power system is now operating under load in its engineering laboratories. It also published a protection and grounding framework developed with Nvidia ($NVDA). The document is intended for industry evaluation and can be implemented by different vendors rather than serving as an exclusive SolarEdge specification.
Validation of the full system is still underway, and the proposed data-center products are not yet generally available. SolarEdge explicitly distinguished its long experience with protection components in solar installations from proof that the new data-center architecture is validated. The announcement therefore marks technical progress and a potential expansion into another power-electronics market, not a completed commercial rollout, an Nvidia purchase commitment or a newly disclosed order backlog.
