Sigma Lithium extends $100 million debt as production ramps up

Sigma Lithium ($SGML) signed an agreement letter with Synergy Capital to move the maturity of $100 million of senior secured debt from December 2026 to June 2027. The six-month extension leaves the interest rate at SOFR plus 6.95% annually. It provides additional time to rebuild production and operating cash flow before the principal repayment falls due.

The lithium producer reported 7,090 tonnes of concentrate output since restarting operations in October, following restoration of its environmental licenses by a court decision. Sigma retained its target of reaching an annualized production rate of 330,000 tonnes by the end of 2027. That remains a future operating objective, rather than its current production level. The extension addresses the timing of an existing obligation; it does not represent a new $100 million cash injection.
