Supermicro lifts preliminary quarterly sales range well above its earlier forecast

Super Micro Computer ($SMCI) now expects fiscal first-quarter revenue of $18.5–19.5 billion, substantially above its earlier $14.5–15.5 billion forecast. Preliminary gross margin is expected to fall between 12% and 12.5%, compared with previous guidance of 10.4–10.8%. The company attributed the stronger outlook to demand for AI infrastructure and a more favorable product mix during the quarter ended September 30.

The revisions indicate materially higher anticipated sales and profitability than management had initially projected, rather than a small change within the old range. However, these are preliminary, unaudited estimates, not finalized quarterly accounts. Financial closing procedures and review work remain outstanding, so reported figures could change. Supermicro plans to publish its full results on November 3; the update does not by itself establish that the stronger quarterly run rate will persist throughout the fiscal year.
